I Am Me…INFP
I would really love to be more scheduled and organized. I would love to plan out my day and then work my plan, checking off each item as I go. Well, I say I would love this and yet for some reason this is not how I work. Truth be told, being scheduled and organized is not how I work best.
So, I am making a vow right here and now to just accept who I am. It has worked for me. I’m no longer going to pretend to be someone I am not. It only leads to increased stress when I try to box myself in to being someone I am not. While my way of getting things done hasn’t always worked for others, I think I do a very good job of finishing work on time or even early. Just because I do this work in a pressure-prompted way, doesn’t mean it won’t be good.
No big event has triggered this announcement. I just thought I would put it out there. Maybe it will help others who get down on themselves for not doing things like they have been told they are supposed to do them. All our lives we have been told to complete work within a particular structure. Remember grade school: the early bird gets the worm?
If you are a parent, I hope you will take this into consideration with your own children. If you tend to be more scheduled, while your child is more open-ended, I hope you will allow him or her to explore the preferences with which he or she was born.
Thanks for reading.

So, what you’re saying Michael is that I should be more open-ended with Aiden when he doesn’t want to clean out the kitty litter or pick up his dirty clothes from the floor? : ) Joking aside, I too work best under pressure. Hope you have a great weekend.
Hello Bonnie,
Kitty litter aside, I’ve seen you as a mother first hand and would be among many who would say how wonderful you are. With both Aiden and Sophia you encourage them to be who they are. Further, your 6th grade students are very lucky to have you as their teacher.
I just came across this post, having recently discovered my ‘type’ and used it to release myself from rigid, never-followed planning.
It could have been written by me! Good to see a kindred spirit out there. Thanks!
So happy to hear!
